De dominerar som orsak till sporadisk okomplicerad cystit hos kvinnor och är i regel känsliga för vanliga urinvägsantibiotika. Övriga urinvägspatogener kallas för sekundärpatogener. WebbEffekt – hyppig forekommende cystitter blant kvinner i postmenopausal alder 2. Urinveisinfeksjon er hyppigere hos eldre og årsaken er ukjent. Faktorer som trekkes frem er dårligere personlig hygiene, redusert infeksjonsforsvar, nedsatt urinproduksjon, feilernæring, økt forekomst av andre sykdommer og mer virulente bakterier.
