It was rebuilt in the 1990’s and is an unstaffed reserve/volunteer Station. This station services the community of Sheridan and provides mutual aid to the City of Wheatland. WebSheridan Volunteer Fire Department was officially founded in 1925, the department dates back to 1890 when the city was organized and volunteers used hose carts. In 1976 the first paid firefighter was hired, and in 1980 the department went from an all-volunteer to combination. The Denver Fire Department (Colorado) took over fire service in 2010.
